fireplace?! yeah!

friday:
stayed a little late to work, but got home in time to catch a nap before ben and co.'s partay. it was ridiculously fun. a bunch of fabulous people showed up, including two of my favorite saucy ladies, tiya and emily! wooo! ben made us crazy, yet somehow delicious drinks involving sour mix before rocking the robot to the slits with tiya. mike amused me with his sippy cup filled to its blue plastic brim with beer. had a few extended conversations before alcohol took over and i spent much of the rest of the night publicly making out...

the evening wound down, ending with ben, clay and i sharing some delicious pita and hummus by candlelight at 5am. it was a perfect party.

sunday --> now:
we made a delicious veggie-centric dinner, taking turns performing various kitchen duties, like chopping and sauteing, thus solidifying our status as the most vomit-inducing duo since (insert stupid abbreviated name of hollywood couple here). after dinner and wine, we settled into the newly arranged living room, fireplace blazing, and put james spader in the dvd player. unfortunately, secretary rubbed me the wrong way last night (snort, giggle) and put me in a mood that could only be ameliorated by no less than 8 hours sleep.


i awoke feeling heady, listless and congested, which was not helped by the gray weather. dragged myself into work a little late and was promptly bombarded with emails and phone calls for the next 7 hours.


but now i'm back at home. the house is quiet. the simpsons are on. i got the fireplace going all by myself! i'm making lady grey tea in my futuristic electric teapot.


everything is lovely and i totally win.
