i woke up feeling a little butterfly-related queasiness, but i shook them off with a hearty breakfast and a mini dress-up session with half the clothes in my overstuffed closet. i settled on my dream shirt from last year (crinkly, black, cap-sleeved, edwarian-ruffled button-down) over a hot pink, crinkly silk cami from primark, dark grey, vintage, swingy, wool christian dior knee-length skirt, my perquisite black running pants, slouchy, cream-colored knee socks and black suede, pointy-toed, slouchy boots. so in short, i really liked my outfit.
headed out to tryst to meet with my interviewer, got there a good twenty minutes early so as to stake out the best/most comfortable set of seats. found a couple o’ good ones and ordered some green tea. reviewed my points-to-bring-up post-it and waited. she was right on time and so, so, so nice! we talked for about an hour and it was easy and comfortable, which was wonderful… best possible interview! i left feeling confident and pretty good about the whole thing… now, a bit of waiting!
floated along down the street and headed back to work where i spent the next few hours giggling and telling everyone how fabulous she was and how much i liked her metallic ballet flats and beachy hair. had a delicious (but scalding) lunch at asian bistro with kelly. the afternoon creeped by until i got the following news…
if i were to get this job (and even if i don’t get this particular one) i would need to find a place to sublet up in new york until my future housemate/bff tiya can move up there in august. so i was telling my pal pietro about this living situation conundrum and he mentioned that a friend of ours from college who i know from fashion design club was looking to sublet her manhattan apt. i emailed augusta right away and learned that she did in fact want to sublet from mid may to end of august and was relieved to have possibly found a reliable subletter. i plotzed a little at my good luck.
that was the best wednesday ever.
