Pop/Rocks
got back to dc on sunday night and took a quick nap.
woke up and got myself together so i could go see some more rock at dc9.
aaron and thomas lunch were playing and i totally love seeing them play!
unexpectedly ran into a friend of mine from college and we played the catch up game for a while over a couple of woodchucks.
the atmosphere was very welcoming and calm and it made me unbelievably happy. thank you chill sunday night dc9 people.
hugged my gwennieboo, robotted with the Tom.
the run-in was lovely as usual.
thomas lunch and the crew were also excellent, as illustrated by the following:

monday night i went and listened to some sensitive music at warehouse next door. my next door neighbor rules. saw many lovelies, lots of hugs. met a few jmu kids. was thoroughly impressed by an unassuming bespectacled fellow in white CS major sneakers. he sat down on stage, surrounded by gadgets and pedals, guitar slung high on his chest. that kid opened his mouth and out came a jeff buckley voice, supported by a backward running loop of some crazy things, like spoons dropping on linoleum. everyone sat cross-legged on the cold tile floor and i loved it.
i also really enjoyed paul michel's set. he pulled his chair down off the stage and asked us to all move closer, like during storytime. so there was more cross-legged sitting and silent appreciation. loved paul's voice, loved paul's tunes.
Aujourd'hui
spent much of the afternoon listening to dc music. the juxtaposition of tim's gravelly fuck me voice and aaron's sensitive love me in a field of poppies voice made me smile.
got a tiny tin robot from my girl boss, marissa. it. is. amazing. it's a wind-up japanese robot with a removable wind-up dealie. hmmm... here's 2000 words:
kelly gave me fabulous gifts from world market. uber sweet of her... to the max! a fabulous asian inspired mini wallet/clutch (because mini is better) in garish, yet marvellous shades of deep teal and lemon yellow. also some european chocolate and the best tea ever made... lady grey! woot woot to the max, kelly... woot woot to the max.
