staying in...

i’ve been a bit of a homebody of late… partially because of an excellently lazy fellow by the name of ben who makes staying in and listening to records even more fun than it already was and partially because it’s been fucking cold to the max

quite recently (last week) i’ve become the newest citizen of
netflix nation and i’m fully converted. the variety and scope of its inventory is refreshing, its convenience, unmatched! i put a bunch of movies on my list and totally cannot wait to indulge in their collected cinematic majesty. so far, i’ve rocked ponette (one of my all-time favorite frenchies) and whale rider, which, save for the painful maori songs of mourning, is a spectacular movie and totally made me want to go to new zealand.

last night, i fixed myself some
mac and cheese and decided to make it a netflix night. made a little fort out of freshly laundered (but yet to be folded) clothes and
pillows on my bed and watched thumbsucker… twice. i can’t really decide whether i like it or not. it starts out a little more angsty than i could handle, but it morphs into something really interesting. and i love most of the characters, particularly tilda swanton – it doesn’t even bother me that she doesn’t have eyebrows.

work has been ridiculously tiring and as a result, i’ve become cranky and slightly disenchanted. so i’m taking tomorrow off to
rejuve and eat candy in front of the fireplace. got a few arty projects lined up for myself and i can’t wait to have the house to myself! Weee!
