so, being faced with the end of yet another unsatisfying job, i'm forced to ask myself that dreaded quarter-life crisis/question...
what do i want to do with my life?
here's a homer simpson-worthy list of jobs i've had:
law firm receptionist
filer and copy clerk
art handler
art gallery hostess and speech giver
graphic designer
trade show representative
trade show chef/saleswoman
PR assistant (barbecue company)
advertising assistant (barbecue again)
library attendant (front desk)
music PR specialist
preschool teacher's assistant
preschool art/craft teacher
marketing specialist (acupuncture)
PR assistant (CNN)
television personal assistant (turner classic movies)
accounts payable girl (discovery channel)
accounts receivable girl (discovery channel)
television development assistant (TLC)
entertainment PR girl
the answer is clearly: i've no idea.
[i want to make something. i want to love what i'm doing. i want to be happy to do my work. simple requests.]
i've been thinking about going to design school. i loved school and it would be wonderful now that i'm older and the boss of me to take control and re-enter academia with a distinct occupational goal.
but what to do? am i techy enough for graphic design? am i rich enough to try photography?
so it would be very helpful if you could tell me what my perfect job is.
that would be most appreciated.
thank you.

Write stuff. Professionally. Novelist, poet, script-writer, whatever...Haven't been reading your blog for the longest, but it's not like you're incapable of tightly wrought sentences... ;)
Of course, there's always the circus.
why thank you for the kind words of encouragement! perhaps i should try writing again...
Don't have a clue. BUT, when you find out, tell me, pls., so that i can go do the exact same thing. Coz clearly, our professional lives are doing the parallel tango to the same funky beat.
graphic design & photography are very intertwined! i think you'd be really good in a position where you designed marketing material for the entertainment industry. you'd be working with fun concepts and there's so much need for accessible design that's not totally dumbed down. it would also involve creative writing and its plain to see you're a wordsmith (wordstress?) sooo yeah also i really want to go back to school and think you should go for it.
